Purple Heart Dinner The Cape Fear Purple Heart Association honors recipients and their families

On Saturday, August 11, 2018, Wilmington will be hosting the fifth annual Cape Fear Purple Heart Dinner as a tribute to the Purple Heart recipients in the five-county area surrounding Wilmington. The Wilmington Convention Center, 5pm The Purple Heart is awarded to those who have been wounded or killed while serving with the US Military. Established by George Washington in 1782 as the badge of military merit, the Purple Heart’s order includes the phrase “Let it be known that he who wears the military order of the Purple Heart has given of his blood in the defense of his homeland and shall forever be revered by his fellow countrymen.”The mission of the Cape Fear Purple Heart Association is to provide a forum for the community to honor Purple Heart recipients and their families, to foster an environment of goodwill among combat wounded veterans, to promote patriotism and to encourage the sharing of recipient experiences so future generations will know of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.Your sponsorship is needed to make this tribute possible. Your sponsorship will allow us to honor Purple Heart recipients and a family member of each recipient. The attached sponsor sheet will help you determine what level of tax deductible donation you will make. All contributions will be used solely for the event which will be coordinated through a volunteer committee from local community organizations.Checks for Sponsorships or individual tickets should be made payable to Cape Fear Purple Heart Association and mailed to 1001 Rosea Court, Leland NC, 28451. Individual tickets are $25 per ticket.Please join us in honoring our area’s Purple Heart recipients.
